My name is Sam Thomas, a teacher of
Commerce and Accountancy. I started teaching these subjects in
1984. The past two and half decades have been a journey through
various areas of these subjects; from abstract academic
accounting to practical; manual accounting to computerized. Such
experience is your guarantee of quality. There is no accounting
situation in your text book that I did not handle in real life.

At present I am technically employed
by Abu Dhabi Indian School. My accommodation expenses and air
tickets come from there. A low cost single bedroom flat in Abu
Dhabi, costs Rs.50,000 per month.
I taught Accountancy and Business
studies, long enough to understand the concerns of students. The
entire content is extracted from my book "concise accountancy".
The illustrations were developed specifically for weak students
of my class. Any average student will find them easy to follow
without a teacher's help.
Useful hints and comments are given
in boxes to direct the attention of students to the right spots
in the topic discussed. This work is written in plain simple
language. My aim is
to present the subject of Accountancy, not to demonstrate my
skill or lack of skill in twisting the English language. Academic language
in India was hard and unnatural especially in business
education. Everybody assumed that it was the right way. If you
check some old question papers or text books written by some
senior teachers, you will understand what I mean. Good
business language is important at a later stage, but at Higher
Secondary level understanding the basic concepts of Accountancy
is more important.
Updating this website is a
continuous process. Keep watching. If something is missing, let
